Canadian Dressage Young Riders Move on to Individual Final

Ottawa, Ontario --- Following the Individual Championship Dressage Test at the Maui Jim North American Young Riders' Championships, presented by CN, all the Canadian dressage riders have qualified to proceed to the Musical Freestyle Final on Sunday.
Riding Quintesse in the Individual Championship Test, Julie Watchorn, Schomberg, Ontario, earned a score of 66.600% which placed her in a tie for third and moved her in to second place overall in the individual standings with 132.911. Canada West individual, Stephanie Koepke of Calgary, Alberta, and Flanero received 66.050% in the Individual Championship Test. The duo is currently in sixth place heading to the Final with a total score 131.161. In first place is Christina Beal of US Region 7 with a combined score of 137.611.
Alexandra Hosein, Wellington, Nova Scotia, is currently in ninth place aboard Lucky Star and Veronique Lavallee, St-Lazare, Quebec, and Prime Tyme are in 13th spot.
The top 15-horse/rider combinations after the Team and Individual Championship Tests move on to the final portion of the competition, the Musical Freestyle Test, on Sunday.
In eventing, Waylon Roberts of Port Perry, Ontario, and Paleface completed the dressage portion of the CCIYR-CH** division and currently stand in 18th place.
The Ontario CCI*-J team comprised of Sandra Andresen of Pickering, Ontario, Megan Bailie of Enniskillen, Ontario, Denise Lucas of Bolton, Ontario, and Lindsay Pearce of Tecumseh, Ontario, are in eighth place following dressage. Bailie is in ninth place individually riding Jagger, and Pearce is in 15th place aboard Rollick in the Sun.
Tomorrow, the competition continues with eventing cross-country, show jumping, and dressage consolation.
