Farmkey Supports Horse Welfare

August 7, 2004

Snetterton, Norfolk, UK --- Farmkey, the leaders in Equine Security has raised £3,000 for the International League for the Protection of Horses.

The money, which has been raised over the last year, will go towards the rescue and rehabilitation of a horse or pony at Penny Farm, the ILPH Recovery and Rehabilitation Centre near Blackpool.

Farmkey raised the money by donating a percentage of the cost of each horse or pony freezemarked last year as part of the Farmkey 25th Anniversary.

The money raised will be used to cover the costs of a horse's rehabilitation at the centre and Farmkey will follow its progress throughout.

Chief Executive of the ILPH, John Smales said: "We are delighted to receive such generous support from Farmkey.

"This will make a real difference to the life of one of the many rescued horses and ponies that come into ILPH Penny Farm every year."

Heather Roberts of Farmkey said: "We are pleased to have been able to support the ILPH. They carry out such marvellous work to rehabilitate horse and ponies, and we are very pleased at how well the fundraising was received."

Farmkey are pioneers in freezemarking and have developed a network so extensive and effective that more than 95% of freezemarked horses that have been stolen are safely returned to their owners.
