*ALERT!* Hotel Rooms and Stalls Selling Fast at Horse Shows by the Bay

Traverse City, MI --- Horse Shows by the Bay, a three week equestrian festival held at the scenic resort area of Traverse City in Traverse Bay, Michigan, announces that they are quickly selling out of stalls available. Hotels in the area are also selling out of available rooms as well. The rooms at local hotels are selling due to the popularity of the area during the summer months.

Rooms at the official host hotel, the feature hotel, and other affiliated hotels are currently held especially for patrons of Horse Shows by the Bay, and rooms for the two to three week period of the horse show will be difficult to obtain once they are released back into general inventory. Many group block rates at affiliated hotels will expire in the next few weeks. “This year the hotels went to great lengths to commit a large portion of their inventory to us, so we encourage anyone that hasn’t reserved their rooms to do so right away,” says Alexandra Rheinheimer, show organizer.

As the official host hotel of the Horse Shows by the Bay series, the Grand Traverse Resort and Spa offers many luxurious amenities for equestrians, including the golf courses, which offer 54 holes and are among the finest golf courses in the Midwest. The Spa Grand Traverse is a full-service haven that was created for optimal health, a grand feeling of well-being, and beauty. The Spa’s 7,000 square feet of luxurious treatment space is adjacent to a world-class 100,000-square foot Health Club. The Grand Traverse Resort and Spa has recently upgraded and renovated over $15 million worth of improvements. A portion of the block will be released on May 18; the remaining rooms will be released June 16, 2008.

The feature hotel is the Park Place Hotel, which is in the heart of downtown Traverse City’s shopping and dining district. They have 140 tastefully appointed guest rooms and suites, as well as the distinctive Minervas restaurant and lounge for fine food and fun, and The Beacon Lounge at the Top of the Park for beverages and entertainment. Their group block rate expires June 1, 2008.

There are other local hotels that are affiliated with Horse Shows by the Bay as well, and a full listing with contact numbers is noted below.

The horse show management also asks that anyone who is interested in competing at Horse Shows by the Bay this summer, from July 16 to August 3, contact the show as soon as possible to reserve stalls.
