Canadian Dressage Teams Named for 2007 North American Junior and Young Riders’ Championships

Ottawa, Ontario --- Dressage Canada is pleased to announce the teams that will represent Canada at the 2007 CN North American Junior and Young Riders’ Championships (NAJYRC), to be held July 31 – August 5 in Lexington, USA. The Young Riders’ teams are as follows: Team Canada Coast to Coast Rider Hometown Horse Owner Alexandra Duncan West Vancouver, BC Elektra Alexandra Duncan Brittany Fraser New Glasgow, NS Furio Brittany Fraser Danielle McKinnon Aurora, ON Noma Tender Danielle McKinnon Julie Watchorn Schomberg, ON Quintesse Julie Watchorn Team Ontario Rider Hometown Horse Owner Amy Jager Breslau, ON Jive Amy Jager Cecile Von Martels Ridgetown, ON Downtown Cecile Von Martels Andrea Wetzel Sharon, ON Widu Witulo Barbara Holden-Sinclair Leah Wilson Orangeville, ON Westside Lady Susan Platz The Junior Riders’ team is as follows: Team Canada Rider Hometown Horse Owner Jade Deter Kemptville, ON Mastermind Jade Deter Jaimie Holland Caledon, ON Fleurina Jaimie Holland Sara Regehr Vernon, BC Danika Beth Regehr Lindsay Seidel-Wassenaar Bluffton, AB Oslo Lindsay Seidel-Wassenaar This will mark the second time that a Junior Championship is being held in conjunction with a Young Rider Championship and has proven to make for an exciting competition. “We have a great group of girls on the teams, and they have lots of team spirit” said Chef d'Equipe Tina Busse-Irwin. “We’re going to have a lot of fun and success, and everyone is looking forward to it.” Canada Dressage riders enjoyed immense success at the 2006 NAJYRC’s, also held in Lexington, VA, with the Canada West Young Riders’ Dressage Team claiming the Team Gold and team member Pia Fortmuller winning Individual Gold.
