The Calgary Stampede Kicks Off 30-Hours of Tough

Calgary, AB --- The Calgary Stampede will kick-off the 30-Hours of Tough campaign with a pink ribbon cutting at the Olympic Way entrance to the park on Sneak-a-Peek, Thursday, July 5, at 4 p.m. Park admission will be $3 on Sneak-a-Peek with net proceeds going to Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation (CBCF) – Prairies/NWT Chapter. Sneak-a-Peek also includes a special performance by Jann Arden on the Coca-Cola stage at 9 p.m. and an exclusive fundraising concert featuring jazz superstar Diana Krall sponsored by ENMAX.

30-Hours of Tough will continue on Friday, July 6 with a pink parade where spectators are encouraged to show their support and wear pink. The parade will include pink details in the opening presentation, the floats and the celebrity

judges. Pink will continue with a special presentation by Wrangler of a Tough Enough to Wear Pink Stampede Rodeo performance, in which competitors, rodeo clowns, announcers and rodeo fans will be encouraged to wear pink.

The 30-Hours of Tough campaign will raise funds and awareness in support of the CBCF – Prairies/NWT. A special cheque presentation will be made to CBCF – Prairies/NWT between the GMC Rangeland Derby chuck races and the evening show. Pink fireworks will be included into the Grandstand Show ending the 30-Hours of Tough campaign.

George Brookman, Calgary Stampede president and chairman of the board; the Calgary Stampede Parade Marshals, Aaron Jackson, Benjamin Jordan, Carlos Koppen and Rob Lewis; and, Gord Syme, chair of the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation – Prairies/NWT Chapter, will be available for interviews following the ribbon cutting.
