Come Along for the Ride – Again!

Smiths Creek, NB --- “Along For The Ride”, the 13-part series that told the behind-the-scenes stories about Grand Prix riders and their trusty steeds, will began again Sunday, March 5, 2006 at 8:30 am ET on the PRIME TV network.

Filmed during the 2005 Kubota Cup Canadian Show Jumping Series, the new television series, Along For The Ride, featured 39 of Canada’s Grand Prix Show Jumping Riders in face to face interviews, in the stables and in the show ring. Each of the 13 programs focused on three competitors at one of the show venues. Rookies and veteran Olympic riders alike were featured, as well as highlights about each of the host communities where the Kubota Cup Canadian Show Jumping Series was held.

The programs originally aired on the Global Television network in the fall of 2005. It garnered an unprecedented viewership for a new, documentary-style show. Fan demand to see it again was high.

Each 30-minute program gives viewers a glimpse behind-the-scenes at a Grand Prix level show jumping event through the eyes of the competitors. Viewers learn about the training challenges, the personal and professional successes and setbacks that each competitor has dealt with on the road to the show ring.

Their horse partners are also featured. Fans hear about the personalities and quirks of each and how that affects the rider’s training program and red ribbon expectations.

Then, viewers are treated to highlights of the actual competitions as horses and riders vie for the first-place prize money, ribbons and the chance to advance to the Eastern or Western Divisional Championships and the National Finals.

The 2006 Kubota Cup Canadian Show Jumping Series begins on Saturday, April 1st at the Royal Manitoba Winter Fair in Brandon. As the competitive events begin, a new season of Along For The Ride will be filmed for airing in the fall, 2006, on the Global National television network.
