Health, Harmony and Horses Conference Takes Place Saturday March 11 and Sunday March 12
March 6, 2006
Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta --- Exclusive to Alberta Equine ...On-Line --- The third annual Health, Harmony and Horses conference is being held this coming weekend, and once again promises to be an excellent event for those who are interested in learning about health choices available to their animals.
Sonja Christopher created this conference when she desperately needed to find a cure for her pony. “Cowboy had foundered on all four feet, and it seemed as if nothing could be done, and then I discovered alternative medicine treatments that helped, and set me on this journey – an opportunity for people to learn, to combine the world of conventional treatments with holistic treatments.”
This year’s conference will see the return of Marv Amlin, “How to Really Listen” and Candace Cox, “The Alexander Technique”. “The room was just packed”, says Christopher, “all the participants were really interested in these speakers.” Amlin and Cox will also combine forces on Sunday at their “Ride with Ease” seminar. The conference also offers many diverse seminars over the two days, with topics ranging from Reiki for horses to equine dentistry and theft prevention, and a few will be repeated Sunday so that participants can take in all of them.
Special this year is an information Forum on Sunday, at 3:45 that is free to anyone who wishes to attend. The Forum topics include: proposed changes to the Veterinary Profession Act, rights of animal owners to have freedom of choices and the new University of Calgary Veterinary College. This is an opportunity for people to just listen or to ask questions.
Christopher invites all who are interested in her mission of “providing a place where presenters can share their knowledge, while attracting people who honour and respect that everyone's path to Health and Harmony is unique” – to come to the conference and learn!
All profits from the conference will be donated to a non-profit organization, "Melting the Ice in the Heart of Man". Christopher says that this group is "Geared to a more peaceful way to be with ourselves and our animals."
You may register at the conference, which is being held at Blackland Ranch, Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta. (www.blacklandranch.com ). For more information, check out www.healthharmonyhorses.ca
