Ottawa, Ontario --- Jill Henselwood of Oxford Mills, ON has had made her way back to the top of the Canadian League World Cup Standings, but now shares the lead with Chris Pratt of Belfountain, ON, who had enjoyed having the top spot all to himself for the past month.

With a third place finish in the $65,000 Budweiser Grand Prix de Penn World Cup Qualifier held at the Pennsylvania National Horse Show in Harrisburg, PA, on October 22, Henselwood earned enough World Cup qualifying points to tie her for the lead in the Canadian League standings. With the final event in the Canadian League scheduled for Wednesday, November 9, at the Royal Horse Show, Henselwood has ensured show jumping fans of a great competition.

In the $65,000 Budweiser Grand Prix de Penn World Cup Qualifier, Henselwood was riding Special Ed, an 11-year-old bay Oldenburg gelding owned by Juniper Farms. A total of 25 riders attempted the course designed by Olympic Gold Medalist Conrad Homfeld, but only seven managed to jump clear. Laura Chapot won the class riding Little Big Man while David Raposa placed second with Audi's Fanny de Latour. “It was quite special showing at the Pennsylvania Horse Show this year,” noted Henselwood. “I was very touched as they paid tribute to the lone Canadian representative by playing the Canadian national anthem in my honour. What a great feeling. I enjoyed the week and will definitely make a point of going back.”

Henselwood took the early lead in the Canadian League World Cup standings following the opening event of the season, the $100,000 CN Performance World Cup Qualifier held at Spruce Meadows, and stayed at the top of the leader board throughout the summer. However, following his win in the $100,000 John Deere World Cup Qualifier Grand Prix at the CSI-W Tournament of Champions on September 25 in Palgrave, ON, Pratt overtook top spot in the standings. Riding Lothlorien Farm’s 10-year-old Westphalian gelding, Rivendell (Piano II), Pratt enjoyed his second consecutive victory in the Canadian World Cup League standings as he also won the $50,000 Collingwood Festival World Cup Qualifier Grand Prix at Collingwood, ON.

Tied with 59 points, the Henselwood and Pratt are sure to make the final qualifying event at the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair in Toronto, ON, a truly exiting event. Interestingly, there is also a tie for third place in the standings with 45 points between veteran rider Ian Millar of Perth, ON, and Grand Prix rookie Margie Gayford of Sharon, ON. Following this class, the results will be tabulated and the top two Canadians in the World Cup standings will be invited to compete at the 2006 World Cup Final to be held April 26-30 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
