'Along For The Ride' - 13 Part Television Show - Airs October 8th
October 7, 2005
Markham, Ontario --- A new 13 part television show, Along For The Ride, will be aired on Global National TV beginning Saturday, October 8, 2005. This show, the first of its kind covering Canada from coast to coast, features Canadian Show Jumping and Canadian Equestrians developing into high performance athletes.
“It’s a made for TV serial program about the Kubota Cup Series focusing on show jumping in Canada across Canada,” says Sandra Fraser, founder of the Canadian Show Jumping Series.
Film crews travelled throughout Canada following the Kubota Cup Canadian Show Jumping Series; delving into the behind-the-scenes stories of show jumping and its riders, horses and other personalities. The crews, led by award-winning director John Dolin, recorded several hours of film from Kubota Cup shows across Canada. Those who have seen a rough cut of the first episode report that the story of show jumping is going to be told like never before. It is the inside story of the riders, their horses, the owners and other personalities, and the communities where the Kubota Cup is hosted.
“The rider’s life is pretty interesting,” says director Dolin. “I think it’s not what we would assume it is. I’ve learned different things about different riders.”
The series’ theme song, “Along For The Ride”, written and produced by Jon Van Wingerden (from Perth, Ontario), is included on a new album by fresh Canadian singing talent Craig McIntyre (also an Ottawa-area boy) and his band. They performed at various Kubota Cup events across the country.
Alberta and Saskatchewan episodes will air starting this Saturday, October 8, 2005 at 10:30AM for the month of October, then shift to Sunday in November.
